Blue is a one year old shar-pei boy. We have had a shar-pei before, so we knew what we were getting into when we brought him home. We were aware of the importance of a good diet to keep the health problems associated with shar-peis at bay. We had researched what the vets and the breeders consider to be the best quality commercial pet food, and we combined that with home-cooked meals using high quality organic ingredients. Alas, Blue had allergies, constant digestion problems, which developed into acute diarrhea with haematochezia. We had to beg him to eat at all. He had low energy and was very, very sad all the time. I am writing to you first to let you know that my feline companion of 14 years, Lucy, passed away a couple of weeks ago. As you saw from the last blood test results, there was so much more going wrong than we faced seven years ago when she was first diagnosed with kidney disease. Even with all your recommendations (which usually work wonders) she was finally telling me in various ways that it was time for her to move on. It was like she no longer wanted to fight back anymore and was just very tired of it all. It was very hard to let her go, and I kept her as comfortable as I could for as long as possible until she started showing obvious signs of suffering. At this time we enlisted the help of a vet who was extremely compassionate and gentle. I was able to ensure that all was calm at the end and that she fell asleep very peacefully in her family's arms. She was the greatest little warrior I've ever known. Secondly, but most importantly, I would not have known Lucy for nearly as long if it had not been for your immense support and expert advice over the years. When she was first diagnosed seven years ago (at age seven) with kidney disease, her blood levels were "off the charts" as the vet at that time said. He doubted that she would last more than another month or two, even with daily subcutaneous fluid injections to flush her kidneys.

I was shocked at the time because I thought I had always fed her one of the "best" canned cat foods available. Then I heard about Celeste and Celestial Pets. I bought the book, learned why the canned food was not good for Lucy, learned Celeste's natural food recipe and started getting Lucy to eat it. The first couple of days were touch and go, but with constant coaxing, she began to eat the new diet regularly.

In addition, Celeste recommended certain supplements (not necessarily of her own brand) that would help Lucy's specific problem. The vet had me return after one month for another blood test. He was astounded by the results. He had never seen such a drastic turnaround. One more month later, her results were even better. Soon her levels were all within normal range except for her BUN and creatinine which remained just a hair over normal. Each year, we took Lucy back for another blood test and each year she was stable. You could not tell there was anything wrong with her without a blood test, especially when one witnessed her usual fiesty-ness and energy. Due to the natural fresh food diet and the supplements and advice of Celestial Pets, I was able to double the life of my feline companion and give her several more energetic years. Since learning about the natural fresh food diet, I've tried to spread the word as much as possible to other pet lovers, as well as educating them about the poor quality of even the so-called "best" commercial pet food.

You are not only helping these little creatures who have been domesticated to rely on us humans, but you are greatly helping us guardians too. And finally, I have come to realize that you never give up without a fight as my own cat did.

I have been a believer in you and a customer of yours since 1999. When my two kitties, Romeo and Julian were hospitalized, one right after the other, I immediately started to research feline urinary tract disease. At almost five years old, they were both completely blocked with "crystals" and had to be catheterized. When they came home from the hospital, both exhibited signs of being partially blocked. I tried switching their diets to "wet" food; the Hill's Science Diet for urinary tract disease; and even bought a water fountain to try and encourage them to drink more water. Nothing seemed to work until I began your "raw food" program. Even though I was being discouraged by my friends and most veterinarians I had consulted with, I decided to follow the program to see how it worked. My two kitties have been free from urinary tract disease for the past eight years. The veterinarian who I presently use supports this program and always comments on how my kitties' coats look so healthy. My third kitty, Oliver, has been on the program since he was six months old (that is when we got him as an orphan) and is also a very happy, healthy kitty (and spoiled, too!!!).

I’m writing to place an order and let you know how our 20 year old cat, Osha, is doing. ... I originally put her on the all natural diet with the Celestial Pets supplements for her grand mal seizures back in the late 90’s. The only seizures since that time were directly related to medication for fleas (twice) and accidental ingestion of aluminum foil (1 time). So thank you, thank you, thank you! ... I’ve included a photo of her with my son Lucas (she sleeps with him every night!). ... Dear Celeste and Imelda,

Thank you for getting Lucy our English Springer Spanial started on your program. She is now five and a half years old and has been on your program since she was thirteen months old.

She is very healthy and has a beautiful, shiny coat. Most people think she is still a puppy and are surprised to learn how old she really is.

For the last five months, Lucy has been a therapy dog at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank. She brings a little cheer to the patients as well as the staff once a week, and they always comment on her soft shiny coat.

As promised, enclosed are the long overdue pictures of Fluffy. As you can see,she is usually in the middle of all the action. She loves having her babies here and will probably miss them very much when they move into their new home. … As I get older, I find myself telling my husband, "let's retire in La Jolla!" It certainly is beautiful on the West Coast! (you lucky ducks!) Well, for now, we'll keep doing what we're doing and make the most of each new day. When I close my eyes and count my blessings, I always give thanks for you and all you mean to me and especially Fluffy!
